The City Caribbean Carnival Association was invited to an Award event as a nominated organisation, by the Preston Strategic Partnership. It took place in the Guild Hall on Friday 3rd February 2006.
The chairman and the Caribbean Carnival organisation had been short-listed for an award because of the contribution made to the work of the Partnership and the delivery of the Community Strategy's vision and strategic objectives.
The Culture Thematic Working Group arrived at a list of three nominations which included; Prescap, and Imagine Productions.
The evening included a four course dinner, entertainmnet and an oportunity to socialise and network with colleagues from the other Working Groups and the wider Partnership 'family'. The Caribbean Carnival chairman shared a table with Maggie Morris - Director of Public Health (someone good to know!), Mike McCusker - Preston College and Mike Brogan - Preston City Council.
The six other Thematic Working Groups also has their recipients for the Charter Award.
The catering was provided by Preston College and included Oak smoked salmon & cirtus fruits with Morcambe Bay shrimps, dill, with cracked pepper & honely dressing; Chicken Supreme filled with sun dried tomatoes, fresh basil, forest mushrooms - on steamed leeks with yellow pepper essence; and as for the dessert!!!!!!!!!, it included chocolate to die for - honestly! Well-done students you did us proud!
The invitation to the award ceremony was from the chair of the Preston Strategic Partnership - Councillor John Collins.
The Award ceremony was hosted by Century 105.4 presenter; Jude Vause.
